KICK THE "CAN'Ts" in the PANTS!!!! - district motto #1

Me and my adorbs companion. I'm seriously so lucky to have her. We are a power companionship and help eachother so much. She makes it so easy to be here and be HAPPY!

WE HAVE SOOOO MANY BOOKS its not even funny. And no place to put them.

Me at the famous MTC map pointing to cambodia. BEST PLACE EVER.

Me and my cutie companion Sister Brown on our first night in our residence. M17. It's a party. but not really.. I promise we go to bed on time.

My district. I LOVE THEM.

CHOMRIAB SUAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! HELLO EVERYONE!!!

Can you believe it? I'm a missionary!!! I can't believe it still. It's insane.

I don't have much time but I want to tell you all that I love this place. Being here in the MTC has been the hardest, most tiring, and exciting thing that's ever happened to me! From hour one, we began learning the Khmer language! it's so fun, even though I can't figure out how to roll my Rs :)

By day 2 we already learned how to pray, testify, and taught our companion. Tell me that's not true.... but I'll just say caa sistaaa cia pit! ( Yeah sister, its the truth). The gift of tongues is real. Though I hardly understand anything that our investigator and teachers say, when we are testifying of the truthfulness in what we are teaching, there is a distinct feeling of warmth, truth, and love that comes into the room. Every single time. Though class is like 12+ hours a day, I don't actually memorize anything throughout the day. It feels like a struggle to even remember simple words. But this is the best part. When I kneel and ask for help to remember the things I've learned that day, I wake up the next morning and BAM. ALL the vocab, sentences, and important language points are freshly en grained in my brain. It's the most amazing thing to have so much power and help in learning this language.

The MTC is great. They even have a little room full of Gluten Free Food that they make just for me specaillll i know. They even have a whole closet of GF desserts. don't worry mom, I don't eat them all :) The environment here is amazing. you constantly see smiles, happy people, and get yelled "hello sistaah" in every language possible all throughout the day. It's the best! I'm so happy here. I cannot see myself anywhere else. Also. my companion Sister Brown is the COOLEST. I LOVE HER and we were best friends from minute one. seriously. we help each ther so much. and we are always positive and happy and can't tell each other how much we love each other enough times throughout the day.

Conference in the MTC was interesting. A hard chair 8 hours a day (we have additional sessions) , skirt, and tired eyes couldn't have stopped me from enjoying this conference. The talks given were honestly the most beautifully inspired and spiritual words I have ever heard. I know that they are from true servants called and ordained to serve the Lord {preahyeesuukrih}.

I hope you all have a wonderful week, and look to serve someone even if it's just a simple smile.

That is one of the smallest simple things I've learned here. Just be happy. It's not easy, but it's worth every minute. Also, message for the week: If you cannot find happiness in your brain and life, reach to God. That is sometimes the only and most important way to find TRUE JOY in your heart!

I love being a missionary. I haven't even gotten to the field yet, but I already have a love and desire to serve the Children of God in Kampuchia {cambodia}. The language will come, it doesn't matter the speed, just the effort put into it. Thanks for all your prayers and letters. Keep em coming, I know You are the reason I have this feeling of motivation and strength constantly throughout the day.#blessed

I love you all! Khnom Srlan Yeeng!!!!! Please take Elder Durrant's challenge to ponderize. I will be 'ponderizing" for the next 18 months. Cant wait to tell you all about it.

Love,

Sister Haddock
